Release Notes — Version 1.0.5
Today marks a major milestone for our web application:
We are officially moving out of the 0.x series — welcome to v1.0.5! 🚀
This production release introduces a powerful new foundation along with exciting new features, enhanced flexibility, major stability improvements, and a much smoother user experience.
🚀 Major New Features
Jobs Are Here!
Users can now create Job Templates, launch Jobs, and track Job statuses seamlessly. This brings structured, scalable computing workflows directly into the platform.
Data Retrieval from Archived Storage
You can now retrieve datasets between hot and archived storage at will—giving you full flexibility over your storage management.
Environment Version Selection for Job Templates
When creating Job Templates, you can choose a specific environment version rather than always defaulting to the latest—empowering you with greater control and reproducibility.
Create Environment Versions from Sessions
Environment creators can now save a live session as a new environment version—making it easy to iterate, experiment, and improve setups over time.
Academic-Only Public Environments
Public environments can now be restricted to academic users only, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the academic community.
User Type Prompt on Signup
New users are prompted to identify themselves as academic or industry users. This enables tailored experiences, services, and access.
⚙️ Improvements to Stability and Usability
Better File Uploads at Scale
Uploading large numbers of files is now faster, more stable, and more resilient to network interruptions.
Sponsor Selection Requirement
When launching a session or running a job, users must now select a Sponsor. This makes usage attribution, tracking, and responsibility management simpler and clearer.
View Logs from Previous Environment Versions
Output logs are now available for older environment versions as well, making debugging, troubleshooting, and auditing easier.
Cockpit UI/UX Enhancements
The Cockpit has been cleaned up and improved:
No more confusing disconnected messages when no detector is attached.
Clearer messaging and a more intuitive overall experience.
